Marketcraft
Position: Technologies Specialist
Dates: Aug 2007 – June 2008
Marketcraft designed and manufactured custom solutions primarily for high-end real estate sales centers. This included designing and building custom desks / furniture, displays, audio / visual experiences, interactive sales features, physical 3D topographical property models, and really just about any custom component a customer may want in their real estate sales center. During my time at this company it went through a couple acquisitions / re-brandings, aside from Marketcraft it was also Mice and Motif.
As a Technologies Specialist my supervisor and I handled the design and implementation of any technology that was being included in our products. This included lighting (e.g., lighting on the topographical models, fiberoptic ceilings / display features, etc.), interactive touchscreen displays, PLC controlled interactive property models, and many other technology implementations.
Marketcraft was certainly a small-scale manufacturing facility. The primary manufacturing areas consisted of a carpentry workshop and arts workshop, used mostly for the building of the topographical models. It was very rewarding to be able to take the manufacturing process all the way from conception to install.
